With unparalleled success, comes a need for more capacity. That’s what USJ encountered with their wildly successful, IRMS-designed “Universal Wonderland.” Opened in 2012, and targeted to the under 10 demographic, Wonderland was so popular with parents and children that more fun had to be added. And that’s just what IRMS added in the form of “Moppy’s Lucky Balloon,” a family ride that gives guests an aerial adventure. Themed to a hot air balloon ride, in the inimitable Sesame Street style, the “Moppy” ride features a custom character created especially for Universal Studios Japan by Sesame Street. You know you’ve done a good job when your ride design is converted into a popcorn bucket! IRMS is thankful to have been able to work closely with USJ Co Projects and Marketing in this follow up to the successful Universal Wonderland. The new attraction opened in 2014.
